DevBlog #4
Step inside of our another DevBlog, the heart of L2Ertheia Remastered development! Follow our journey, discover what’s coming next, and see how the world of Aden is being reborn.
This DevBlog will continue by showcasing more features that will be available in the upcoming season. Our goal is simple: to improve the things that make life in Lineage 2 easier and more enjoyable.
Offline Shop
Everyone knows that Lineage 2 has always been heavily tied to its player-driven market, and the game simply wouldn’t function without it. While Goddess of Destruction introduced the Auction System to make buying and selling easier, the true core of Lineage 2 trading has always been player-run towns filled with private stores and crafters.
Many players are familiar with offline shops from Java servers, and we made sure to bring this feature to the retail platform as well. However, there was still one big thing missing.. restoring offline traders after server maintenance.
And let’s be honest… achieving this on the original platform without full source code is incredibly challenging.
But we pushed hard, tested endlessly, and we’re happy to finally say:
It’s ready! This feature will be available at the start of the new season.
For now, you will be able to set up offline shop in the following locations:
- Town of Aden
- Town of Gludio
- Talking Island Village

But that’s not all! To make things easier and more user-friendly, we’ve removed the .offline command and replaced it entirely with a graphical interface. When you set up your private store, a notification will appear on your screen, but you must bee in offline shop zones. Simply confirm it to close your client and activate the offline shop feature.

Instance - Exalted Training
We spent a lot of time thinking about new features that would be useful, engaging, and unique for our server. One of the results is our new instance: Exalted Training.
This instance offers a daily challenge where players must defeat waves of monsters, and it can be entered solo or as a duo. The purpose is simple, to provide additional content for solo players, so you don’t always have to grind outside of town like we’ve all been doing for years in Lineage 2.
You can enter the instance through Kain Van Halter in the Town of Aden. The instance uses a scaling system that adjusts the difficulty to match the level of you (and your party member, if you enter as a duo).
The minimum entry requirement is level 85, and your Awakening must be completed.

Upon entering, the instance will randomly assign you to one of four possible zones, each with its own set of monsters.
We will continue refining this feature and making adjustments based on player feedback and data gathered from our server logs.
Exalted - Quests
If you read our devblogs carefully, you could notice new quests, which are introduced for new season.
There are two quests related to our Exalted system:
Exalted, Searching of Darkness
Lineage 2 has always struggled with one major issue and its lore integration. Over the years, the original developers attempted to introduce quest content that would connect players more deeply to the world, but there simply isn’t enough of it. The storytelling side of the game has always been one of its weakest points.

So we decided to give it a try ourselves and create our own lore-driven quests.
Yes, some elements may not perfectly align with the official lore, but we did our best to stay respectful to the world while adding something fresh and meaningful.
This quest is the first in a new series, and it even includes in-game cinematics running directly through the client. And trust us… creating custom cinematics without the original tools was a massive challenge, but we made it happen.
Bound by Training
Another quality-of-life improvement comes in the form of our new daily quest: Bound by Training.
Quest can be taken by character of level 85+ and must have completed Awakening. Meet up with Kain Van Halter in the Town of Aden to start your daily task.
This quest will randomly assign a one task based on your level range from three options. There are always two tasks that require you to hunt monsters in open-field zones, and one task that sends you into party instances.
Completing the party task will reward you with additional bonuses, giving players a good incentive to engage in group content.
If you don’t like the assigned task, you’re free to decline it, but be warned... the Exalted Council will impose a 48-hour penalty before you can receive a new one.
And which rewards you can receive? For each level range, we will provide specific amount of XP/SP, 1
Energy of Destruction and 15 Seals (Loyalty, Pledge, Sincerity or Spirit). If you complete party instance content, then you will receive extra XP/SP, 2
Energy of Destruction and 25 Seals (Loyalty, Pledge, Sincerity or Spirit).

Drop and Spoil rework
One of the biggest challenges for the new season was to finally rework the retail drop and spoil system for field monsters and bosses. To properly revive spoiling and crafting, we first had to remove crafting packs, as they had a very negative impact on the overall economy.
With this change, full drops from field or instances bosses are back, and even regular monsters can reward you, if you’re lucky enough.
Retail Ertheia suffered from one extremely unfriendly design choice: almost all valuable content was locked behind field bosses. Everything else simply wasn’t worth the time or effort. This created a massive advantage for the strongest clans, allowing them to control the entire server with no alternative ways for regular players to progress their gear.
As you may have noticed, we’ve also reworked spoil skills, and this ties directly into our overhaul of the spoil system itself. We completely redesigned monster spoils, making it possible for solo players to reliably gather materials on their own.
Of course, parties and clans will always have an advantage, but now the option for solo farming actually exists, and we’re very happy about that.

In addition, Upgrade/Downgrade recipes, which are closely connected to this system, will become much more accessible in the game. This means you’ll be able to spoil lower-grade materials and upgrade them step-by-step into the ones you actually need.
Instance drops have also been completely reworked. If you invest time into an instance, there should be meaningful rewards that reflect your effort. This change also strengthens party-focused content, encouraging players to connect with each other and work together to reach their goals.
We’ve also updated our Wiki with all the latest server drop and spoil changes. You can now find the current drop and spoil lists, all pulled directly from our own database. If you notice anything unusual, please let us know, sometimes parsing server data can produce errors, and the information might differ slightly from what appears on the live server.
